NAME: Archie Cosaitis

LOCATION: South London

Archie Cosaitis began his competitive karting journey in October 2022 at the TeamSport Crawley Race Academy. Through this structured development pathway, he rapidly mastered core driving skills, transitioning from a beginner to an advanced driver in just a few months.

Throughout 2023, Archie established himself as a credible challenger to seasoned champions, honing the mental discipline and adaptability required to compete at the highest level of indoor racing.

In 2024, Archie moved into mainstream championships, making an immediate impact in the British Indoor Karting Championship (BIKC).

He secured a decisive victory in the Local Finals at TeamSport Crawley, amongst several elite competitors.

His race-craft continued into 2025 as he successfully transitioned to outdoor electric karting in the inaugural FAT Karting League.

Archie’s performance was clinical; he secured the Regional Championship title with a round to spare, cementing his status as a 2025 UK Champion.

This victory earned him a prestigious spot at the 2025 FAT World Karting Finals at Willow Springs, California, where he represented the UK against a global field.

In addition to his outdoor success, Archie continues to dominate the indoor circuit. In May 2025, he broke the TeamSport Crawley lap record three times over one month, becoming the first driver to record a 41-second lap in electric karts at the venue.

He concluded the 2025 BIKC season as one of the top 32 drivers in the nation, amongst over 5,000 entrants to reach the National Finals in Warrington.

2025 Championship Season: The Road to the Title

The 2025 FAT Karting League season showcased Archie’s versatility across different tracks and weather conditions.

  • Round 2 (Shenington): Claimed his first win of the season in challenging wet conditions, moving from P3 in qualifying to P1 in the Final.

  • Round 4 (Shenington): A "Grand Slam" weekend—secured Pole Position, won the Pre-Final, and took the Final Victory.

  • Round 6 (Shenington): Repeated his dominance with another Pole Position and a clean sweep of the Pre-Final and Final.

  • Round 8 (Shenington): Despite technical issues in qualifying resulting in a "Black and Orange" flag, Archie fought back to a P2 finish in wet conditions to clinch the Championship Title one round early.

The Technical Edge

Archie excels in the technical aspects of racing, particularly in qualifying. During his 2025 campaign, he secured multiple Pole Positions and consistently qualified within the top 5, even when facing technical issues.

His record-breaking 41.419s lap at TeamSport Crawley stands as a testament to his ability to find the absolute limit of electric kart performance.

Technical Strengths (Mechanical & Analytical)

  • Adaptability: Proven success in both the Junior Lightweight (FKL) and Mainstream Indoor (BIKC) categories, adapting quickly to different chassis weights and power delivery systems.
  • Problem Management: During Round 8 of the FKL, Archie managed a technical issue (Black and Orange technical flag) during qualifying, yet maintained the mental discipline to recover and secure the P2 finish required to win the Championship.
  • Data-Driven Improvement: Archie utilizes lap-time analysis and sector-delta tracking to refine his racing line, leading to his record-breaking 3-time lap record reset in a single month (May 2025).

Performance Philosophy

Archie competes in championships designed to highlight pure driving talent. By excelling in the "arrive and drive" format of the FAT Karting League—where all drivers compete in equal, F1-engineered electric karts—he has demonstrated that his victories are the result of superior skill and on-track intelligence rather than financial advantage.

2025 Season Summary

The 2025 season served as a landmark year for Archie. After securing his Regional Championship title a round early, he represented the UK on the global stage in the United States. Concurrently, his performance in the BIKC solidified his place among the elite top drivers of karting talent in the United Kingdom.

Future Outlook: 2026 and Beyond

Following his appearance at the World Karting Finals in California, Archie is focused on transitioning his technical mastery to higher-horsepower outdoor categories. His goal is to carry his 65% career podium rate into senior-level national championships.

Archie says...

"My aspiration for a career is to progress through the ladder of single seater racing starting with British Formula 4 or the GP4 Championship and progressing to more mainstream racing championships such as Formula series , GT3 Racing, World Endurance Championships etc. I am keen to advocate for drivers and families whose financial circumstances challenge the accessibility of motorsport and the requirements that come with racing and to prove that anyone with talent, the right mindset, commitment and dedication are able to compete at the highest levels of the motorsport ladder. I am also keen to explore and promote my Maltese heritage in the racing scene at some point in a future career."

Motorsport Inspiration

Archie says...

"Three-time World Champion Niki Lauda has been my biggest motorsport inspiration to date. His dedication and work ethic, manifested through his driving skill and attention to the mechanical technicalities of the car, brought him to the pinnacle of his field.
His approach has inspired me to focus on improving my racing abilities throughout the year, analysing on boards, completing online courses, reading books and writing detailed notes on a daily basis, which has influenced my driving incredibly throughout the year.
Another quality I admire about Lauda is his strategic approach to racing, often holding positions if the necessary amount of points have been secured and capitalising on his opponents weaknesses throughout the race. This learning has influenced my decision making during a race. For example, in Rnd 8 at Shenington, I maintained my second position during the final race despite an opportunity presenting itself for a potential overtake when I felt I had increased pace. Having assessed the risk and the likelihood of an adverse impact on my championship outcome, I made a risk based decision not to challenge the leader, ultimately securing the points required to win the championship season with a race in hand.
Finally, Lauda's determination and resilience, returning to the track and winning a further two world titles after his life changing accident in 1976, was one of my biggest motivators throughout the season when fighting back from difficult situations."
